Yes I Can

Yes I Can is a year-round youth program federally funded through the Workforce Investment Act of 1998 (WIA) and administered by the Capital Area Workforce Development Board.  

The program is designed for in-school and out-of-school youth between the ages of 16 and 21 who, because of existing barriers in their life, need support in order to achieve educational aspirations and to attain gainful employment.

 

 

   

Youth services are built around four major themes of youth development:

1. Preparing for and succeeding in employment
2. Supportive services for youth
3. Developing youth potential as citizens and leaders

Academic Services Basic Skills Tutoring On-Site ABE/GED Classes Assistance with Applying for and Entering Educational Programs Vocational Evaluation	Personal Enrichment Life/Self Skills Training Human Resource Development Classes Leadership Development Community Service Learning Projects
Work-Related Activities Job Shadowing Paid & Unpaid Work Experiences Job Placement Job Fairs Employment-Related Seminars	Supportive Services Assistance with Transportation, Housing, etc. Intensive Case Management
