Want to know what job is best for you?

Deciding the type of job to pursue isn't easy for everyone. A Vocational Evaluation can identify the types of jobs as well as identify individualized training needs based upon a person's identified strengths and weaknesses.

Evaluation Services

Vocational Evaluation

Professional staff use a series of assessments, vocational tests, community-based job try-outs, and interviews to help each person determine their individual strengths, needs, job interests, and career goals.

During the evaluation process an individual's skills, abilities, and vocational interest areas are assessed to help participants make appropriate career or job choices.  Community assessments enable clients to perform job duties in real work environments.  Participants have opportunities to earn money and improve their skills in an integrated setting.

WorkFirst Evaluation

The WorkFirst program is a service provided to individuals who receive WorkFirst assistance through a contractual agreement with DSS.  Participants complete community-based assessments to assist with exploration of chosen career goals and to aid in the development of work experiences.  Situational assessment opportunities are available in an integrated work setting to aid WorkFirst individuals in skill development for those who want to become employed or improve their quality of life.

Participants are referred to the program by Johnston and Harnett county social workers.  Upon completion of evaluation services, WorkFirst participants may be referred to Vocational Rehabilitaion for additional services.

"A sucessful life is one that is lived through understanding and pursuing one's own path, not chasing after the dreams of others.'
