This program is offered in collaboration with Johnston County Schools. Area high school students enrolled in the OCS Diploma Track and life skills students participate in community-based vocational training. JCI employs six OCS job coaches who work with students in all area high schools.

Community-Based Training (CBVT)
This training occurs during the tenth-grade year for OCS students and the twelfth-grade year for LPS students. Students explore stated and tested interest areas to aid in the development of realistic career goals. Students on the OCS diploma track are required to complete 240 hours of CBVT. Training is provided in a variety of for-profit and not-for-profit agencies and businesses. Many local employers are providing paid training opportunities.

At the completion of the tenth-grade year, OCS coaches meet with school personnel, students, and their families to make referrals to the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation for students needing job placement and training assistance.
If you are a not-for-profit or local employer interested in investing in future employees please contact JCI for further information.
