HISTORY
Johnston County Industries, Inc. (JCI) which is
located in Selma was incorporated in 1975 as a community rehabilitation
facility to evaluate, train, and return individuals with vocational barriers
to employment. In addition to employing
Johnston County residents, JCI places persons with disabilities, who have
received services at JCI, in employment.
Harnett Production Enterprises (HPE) located in
Lillington became a part of JCI in 2004. Harnett County residents with
disabilities receive employment related services in an integrated
manufacturing setting.
Unity House is a psychosocial rehabilitation
program which serves persons with chronic mental illness. Located in Selma
in Johnston County, JCI began operation of the program in 2007. The Unity
House uses a club house model to assist with recovery and stabilization.
